Good to Know

Practical tips for your Space Coast stay.

🚗

Getting Around

You'll want a car. Cocoa Beach is spread out and distances to KSC, Port Canaveral, and Melbourne are best covered by driving.

🌡️

Best Time to Visit

October through April is peak season — lower humidity, warm temps, and no hurricane risk. Summers are hot but less crowded.

🏄

Surf Report

Check Surfline or Magic Seaweed before you paddle out. Swells are typically 2–4 ft, and conditions are best in early morning.

🦈

Beach Safety

Watch the flag system. Red = no swimming, yellow = caution, green = go. Rip currents are common — swim parallel to shore if caught.

🛒

Groceries

Publix on N Atlantic is walking distance from Sandcastles. Winn-Dixie and Walmart are a short drive for stocking up on arrival.
